Customer Questions & Answers:

Customers usually ask these questions about this Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality Headset. If you read these, you will find a lot of information about this product.

1. It says headset. Does that mean no controllers?

The headset only comes with headset controllers and some other parts such as an adapter for eyeglasses, power cord, and wall charger. The 699 ones are bundles that have extra accessories that are not required to use your quest. I purchase the headset only 256 gig version. I did buy a couple of accessories for my device after the fact to make it more comfortable to use. But all done and said it was nowhere near the bundle price.
The 128GB comes with the Headset and controllers and is 299.99+tx. Oculus Quest 2 VR Headset 128 GB + Carrying Case is $448.49+tx. Oculus Quest 2 – All-In-One VR Headset – 256 GB is $399.00+tx. Oculus Quest 2 – Advanced All-In-One Virtual Reality Gaming Headset – Family Christmas Holiday Gaming Entertainment – 128GB Video – Conference Webcam w/Microphone & Speaker is $429.00+tx. So there are many options.

2. Are these the refreshed models with the included silicon face pad covering?

Yes, it comes with the older version mask and the extra NEW silicone face shield. They came out in late August 2021 however, Oculus is sending new face shields to those that apply. They are free for the older versions.

3. Is there an easy access library of compatible games?

Yes. There is a store you view for oculus games, programs, meditation programs, and more through the headset. There are apps like youtube/youtube VR, Disney plus, Netflix, and all for movies and other apps. If you use a long USB-C cable (get braided type, not expensive) you can hook to pc and use steam VR and the newest halflife looks amazing on it via pc(even can bump rex to max via pc. Walking dead great game, the star wars one is great, the star trek bridge command is great.

4. Can I play Fortnite using Oculus Quest 2?

You can play steam VR games via pc using a USB-C high-speed cable. Don’t think an oculus mobile version of Fortnite is also available. Even people play the new Half-life via steam on it using pc.

Look into VorpX, a software that enables a lot of 2D display games to be played in full 3D with head tracking. There are some great channels that cover the Quest2 and what’s being done with it. That said, even if Fortnite, an unreal engine 4 games from epic, can be used with VorpX(very likely because it is UE4), it will have to be played with a mouse and keyboard or similar comparable control scheme(like a controller/etc). The notion controllers can be reprogrammed if you know what you’re doing or can find a file online, but it won’t be like standard motion controllers in VR, but rather just remapped buttons with combinations called cords for uncommon button mappings… This goes for other games as well, but, there you have it.

5. Does this work as well as a big screen tv for watching youtube and streaming content?

Even better than a big screen TV! The VR covers your entire field of vision. This means that the videos you watch will be bigger than anything you could ever see on a big screen TV. YouTube videos, Netflix content, etc are absolutely amazing on the Oculus Quest! Get it! You won’t regret it! It literally opens up a whole new world for you! It’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before!

6. Why do you must have Facebook for this game?

Facebook is the company that backs Oculus. I love the game itself and only use Facebook to log into it. They also go through your friends and find others you know who have it so you could have friends that also play. There are several multiplayer games that you and a friend could play if you both have the same software of game installed.

Oculus Quest 2 REVIEWS & RATINGS

Steven

I was looking for a VR setup and the Oculus Quest 2 is hands down the best performance for the cost. I know a lot of people complained about requiring a Facebook account but there is minimal bleed over from that platform into the Oculus ecosystem. Essentially everything people loved about the original Quest but lighter, faster, better resolution, and cheaper.

Carlos Zamora

It was not clear to me what had to be done with it, already in my hands, as I had to learn and decided not to spend on the official cable that costs almost 20% of what the device is worth, I invested in a Router 6g, which I installed in about 15 minutes with everything and configuration. Now I can play what I bought from my computer anywhere in the house, no wires, except the one on the extra battery.

The Oculus Official Store costs almost twice as much, so I make a wishlist on Steam and as they let me know they’re on discount, I’m taking advantage of it. You have to pay extra expenses if you are a bone colorado player, like me. You have to invest in a strap that balances the weight of the equipment, also that you have to hold an extra battery because I can’t afford the time that the initial battery gives me. I’m also going to invest in a mask and anti-blue light and anti-reflective lenses.

What I have to say… It is absolutely worth the investment, Virtual Reality has a number of Immersive Experiences that you won’t know where to start and what to try next.
But it’s absolutely worth every penny. I regret hesitating between buying this one or the PS5 for so long. I don’t swim in money here, so the doubt was justified.

Pretty Epic Way to Disassociate With Life.
I have wanted one of these bad boys for a while. Finally, they’re back in stock, so I bought one. So far I like it and can tell I’ll be using it a lot for games and… Other things.

It came in simple minimalist corporate packaging like everything does these days, mostly paper (Yay Earth). It came undamaged, but I’m guessing whoever tested it slammed into a wall with wet paint because there’s a blue scratch on one of the corners.

Pros:
Relatively Affordable
Great Tracking
Can go Mobile if you want

Cons:
-Headstrap Sucks
-3 Lens Settings, Couldn’t get it quite right
-Facebook now has a live 3D view of my disgusting room.

It’s pretty much good enough if you’re like me and just want access to VR. I will update after further testing if anything important happens.
